Mingle Concert Series: Camaraderie
This edition of Mingle at the Mingei features Camaraderie: a spirit of familiarity and friendship among members of a group and the original inspiration for Camarada’s namesake. Join Camarada for the Mingle at the Mingei season finale and peak of the 20 year anniversary of performances. This evening of celebration begins with a beloved Mozart Piano Quintet, a new arrangement for the ensemble, Debussy’s beautiful Clair de Lune, and a reprise of a handful of Camarada favorites. Founding member Ann Chase will join the group for an evocative performance of Ay Amor (tango song cycle) by popular Greek composer, Dmitris Maramis, who currently resides in New York. Aligning with Camarada’s reputation for a specialty in tango, the concert will close with a new arrangement of Otoño Porteña by Astor Piazzolla. Hosted by Rob Sidner, the program features music by Mozart, Debussy, Martinu, Ginastera, Mark O’Connor, Dmitris Maramis, and Piazzolla, performed by Ann Chase (soprano), Beth Ross Buckley (flute), David Buckley (violin), Robert Schumitzky (violin), Travis Maril (viola), Erin Breene (cello), Jory Herman (double bass), and Dana Burnett (piano).
