Sharing Prayer Flags: Opening Reception
The San Diego Cancer Research Institute has partnered with the Heritage of the Americas Museum for the first international exhibition Hope Made Visible, an installation of Prayer Flags created by cancer patients and their caregivers.
Exhibit runs August 14 through September 10.
The reception includes live music and hors d’oeuvres.
This exhibition will also include a selection of artwork created by patients in the Expressive Arts Therapy program at San Diego Cancer Research Institute and UCSD Moores Cancer Center. The Expressive Arts Therapy program has been engaging patients and their caregivers in making Prayer Flags using various art media. The exhibition, Hope Made Visible, includes hundreds of prayer flags from all over the world and other works of art created by local patients.
