Walking home from work last September, multi-instrumentalist Nathan “Bonk” Joyner (All Leather, Some Girls, Hot Nerds, Ese' & Zain) was hit by a car while crossing Washington Street at Cleveland in Hillcrest.

His girlfriend and bandmate Alia Jyawook (Hot Nerds, Vaginals, Ana/, Kata) says the police report clocks the car at around 35 miles per hour.

Joyner suffered life-threatening injuries, including a serious head wound.

“He is still recovering, unable to work, and in a great deal of financial hardship,” says Jyawook.

To help alleviate his burden, she is throwing this benefit show, Bonkfest, which will also include DJ Mike Delgado (Ese' & Zain).
