The cold has been going around lately, and I caught it last month. The symptoms: slight aches, major fatigue, some congestion, and a sore throat. It went on that way for a week. So I took a week off of yoga. When it ended, I wanted to get right back into yoga because when I miss 3-4 days, my body feels different.

I went to The Little Yoga Studio (702 Ash St) downtown and took Sara Deakin's and Janike Robinson's classes to get back into my routine. Their classes are great for conditioning the body because their routines are strenuous. In Deakin's class, you hold poses for a long time and there is a lot of emphasis on alignment and integrity of poses. In Robinson's class, it's one breath one movement nearly the entire 75 minutes, which creates a challenge for anyone.

It's good to take Child's Pose and rest in between sets, or modify the sequences so that you can help your body gradually adjust to the movements. I noticed that I was tired quickly, and my legs were easily fatigued. But I'm working to get back into the rhythm of things.
