Tonight and every Tuesday night from 6-9 p.m. at 34th and Adams is Tasty Truck Tuesday. The trucks tonight included Thai 1 On, Slow Cal BBQ, Pierogi Truck, Opera Caffe, Groggy’s Fat Sandwiches, and a couple more. About thirty people came and went while we stood in line for stuffed cannelloni at Opera Cafe. The cannelloni entree cost $8 and was more bread than pasta and ricotta though the pasta was cooked al dente in a rich, cream sauce. It was too mushy to photograph.
The pad see ew with chicken from Thai 1 On cost $9.68 and arrived in a heaping mass of flat rice noodles, flash-cooked broccoli, and large chunks of white meat in a soy and garlic sauce. A couple locals brought their own folding chairs and picnic blankets because there aren't more than two tables for everyone.
