So Say We All has been cultivating the local writing, performance, and story-telling scene since 2009 with regular, usually free events such as Greenroom (writers’ workshop), VAMP (story-telling), F*ck Alt. Comedy, and Long Story Short.
The new Accidental Form poetry workshop and showcase focuses on cultivating your spoken word performance with coach Stacy Dyson at 7 p.m. every Sunday, starting tonight, at Twiggs Tea and Coffee - 2804 Adams Avenue.
August’s Greenroom freewrite workshop focuses on the themes of “crack up’s and breakdowns, mental collapse, hitting the wall, going over the red line, and total loss of control.”
Greenroom - Free - August 24 at 7 p.m. Imperial House - 505 Kalmia Street
Tomorrow is the deadline for this month’s VAMP, “Alternate Endings.”
“Whether it’s an obsession of how it could have gone different, or a story about how the past has actually been revisited and the course of life corrected, we’re exploring that idea of backing everything up and doing it right.”
VAMP - Free - August 25 at 8:30pm. The Whistle Stop - 2236 Fern Street
Long Story Short returns to Space 4 Art with five-minute stories on the theme of “Self-Control.” Leave your notes at home!
Long Story Short - $5 suggested donation - August 28 at 7 p.m. SD Space 4 Art - 325 15th Street
