Home prices nationwide rose impressively in July, according to Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller data released today (Sept. 25). Values in all 20 major metro areas rose. San Diego values rose 1.1% in the month versus the composite 1.6% for the top 20 markets. San Diego values rose 0.8% from a year ago, lagging the 20-metro area composite of a 1.2% yearly gain. San Diego home values are now down 37.5% from the November 2005 peak.
