The 17 year marriage of Clint Eastwood, 83, and his second wife, Dina Ruiz Eastwood, 48, has been shot down in the line of fire.

The impact wasn't so sudden. According to a source quoted in US Weekly, "Clint fell out of love with Dina a long time ago."

With their anemic marriage desperately in need of blood work, Clint threw down the gauntlet over a year ago when the once beguiled and breezy couple took up separate residence. Clint will hereafter talk to the trees rather than this wife.

Hit by several troubling curves, the union had progressed from good to bad. Clint and Dina don't want the breakup to turn ugly. They both promise to keep it amicable and not get clothes-lined by a media tightrope.

The Eastwoods had one million(s) dollar baby together, 16-year-old Morgan.

Dina's settlement will no doubt amount to a few million dollars more than a fistful. Will it be the Pink Cadillac and Gran Torino or a pair of Sister Sara's mules? It should be an interesting property settlement. In a perfect world, Dina would live off the residual checks from the tarantula-sized turkey, Mrs. Eastwood and Co. File Clint's work on the reality series under "Forever Unforgiven."

But the Trees Don't Listen To Him, So you did see Paint Your Wagon - loved it at the time. And Lee Marvin. Million Dollar Baby ending had to be horrible. Stop. She tried a Reality show that got quickly canceled. I think because neither her nor his kids are interesting. I'd have watched Clint but he was hardly ever there.

She would have stayed For A Few Dollars More, but alas, he shall ever remain Unforgiven.

C'mon, smart guys. Let's see you work "Letters From Iwo Jima" and "Bronco Billy" into the conversation.

In A Perfect World, this would be Midnight in The Garden Of Good And Evil. But alas, it was a Sudden Impact.

Clint warmed to the City Heat when he moved out. Now, for Dina, it's Heartbreak Ridge. Their love was once Where Eagles Dare. Now, it's floating down a Mystic River. Too bad they both had Trouble With The Curve.

One last thing: when they got married in California, did they need Blood Work?

Apparently PARENTHOOD didn't suit the actor/director, and after the recent death of David Frost, of FROST/NIXON fame, it seems the sad news continues to come out of Hollywood. This power couple initially made a SPLASH and Eastwood was rather GUNG HO to sign the marriage certificate PAPER and....oh crap, I was doing Clint Howard! Strike all that!
