Decker... there was nothing funnier than watching him try to explain away the gay biker gang stuff with that sad but-I-have-gay-friends and here's-my-resume-of-gay-friendliness column.
If you're going to be a shock humorist, Decker, be a shock humorist. As such, your response to predictable gay pseudo-outrage should have been, "Relax, folks. It was a joke."
Even funnier (sadder) than Decker squirming under gay pressure was the CB editors apologizing for their own gay exploitation ads. They seemed so wounded that the LGBTQXYZ community had turned on them.

There was no squirming Joaquin, I stood by my comments (jokes) and defended myself against accusations of homophobia. But I never retracted nor bowed to the pressure. I suppose I could have written "relax folks, it was just a joke." But that would leave me with another 900 words to come up with to complete the column

Edwin Decker has matured into a savvy and insightful writer.
By telling the truth just as he saw it he communicated to his readers a vision that can only be called the direct and unvarnished truth.
Other than launching Ad Hominem attacks against the man himself, no one can deny the correctness of his vision and the truths it revealed.
A beatiful piece of writing and excellant technique. - Big Dan.
