Bypassing the bylaws? Local planning group accused of plowing through process to keep illegal stop signs

Thanks to the North County Times for its front-page story this morning. Apparently, the powers-that-be consider C. Frank Bennett, senior vice president of research at Isis Pharmaceuticals, and Holly B. Kordasiewica, an Isis scientist, as heros. I do not. In the arrogant quest to promote the human species, these people have reversed the symptoms of Hungtington's disease in animal models, which means that human beings will get better due to the suffering imposed on innocent rodents used in the experiments. According to the article, Isis Pharmaceuticals in Carlsbad injected the animals with a drug that allowed "near-normal movement" and also made them "appear less agitated," which means they must have been injected with the "fatal brain-destroying illness" in the first place.
I am disgusted to see big grins on the faces of the participants and the family of Sharon Shaffer, who has Huntington's Disease. To be glorified for being self-serving narcissists is nothing to be proud of.
