Duke Cunningham Can't Have Gun

I live in Escondido, California with three rescued dogs. In 2007, my story, "Adopting Katie" was published in Good Housekeeping magazine and subsequently appeared in a book called "Blessings: Reflections on Love and What Makes Us Happy," along with essays by Jodi Piccoult, Luanne Rice, and Alice Hoffman. Since then, my essays and news stories have appeared in True Story, True Confessions, The Advocate, North County Times, San Diego Reader and The Paper.
My first novel, "Glamour Ghost," will be on the market shortly, and I'm in the process of completing "Cha-Cha in the Hood," the first romance novel of my Hot-Salsa Romance line.
I have two kids. My son, 34, is an IT guy for a Fortune 500 company. His wife attended Standford University on fellowship and works as an operations manager in hospitals. My daughter, 23, is an actress who is married to a sailor in the U.S. Navy.
