neighborhoods/pacific-beach -- Pacific Beach
The people who are "outraged" by the SDPD shooting of a pitbull in PB last Sunday need a reality check. The majority of citizens who are contributors to the community and have families or who work and try to live respectfully realize that no pit bull is safe. Nobody really trusts pit bulls. And when you walk around the neighborhood with your dog, people make a judgement about you and your personality: impulsive, disrespectful, troubled, paranoid, low-end, aggressive, and undesirable. When you google "San Diego pit bull attacks" or "police pit bulls" or "San Diego pit bull problems" you see how dangerous the breed is to the community. A common refrain by the tattooed, twenty-something owner? "My dog is the sweetest, most loving animal. He would never harm anyone". Right. People who insist on owning a pit bull should be removed from the community. Often, the people who get theses dogs have other issues that make them anti-social: excessive tattoos, bipolar disorder, gang membership, loud, disrespectful lifestyles, or drug/alcohol issues. So, my post is to let the morons (who are blindly supporting the "pit bull lifestyle") know that the overwhelming majority of San DIego citizens do not want you in the community. I support the police who were investigating a violent crime in progress. The naiive young man who allowed his pit to run free from the apartment should be ashamed of himself. It looks as if he contributed to his pet's demise. And I love dogs.— March 20, 2015 8:45 a.m.
