Sam Raimi and the Raping Tree
Yea, that kind of really sucks - I recently watched the original, and could only enjoy it knowing that he regretted putting in that scene. It was like I could imagine it wasn't really happening, wasn't "canon", and basically that one bit that "wasn't really in the movie". The fact that the trees attacked, and how it all was filmed... that was rad, but could've easily done without the rape, and the sexually exploiting imagery you know? While the rest of creepy, hilarious and sometimes shocking (but in an entertaining, theatralic way at all times), this one scene just stood as a huge "big lipped alligator moment", uncomfortable, tittilating and just wrong. And now that kind of sucks again, so thanks very much, "producer" :)— November 4, 2012 8 p.m.
