No teachers’ union, no political agendas…
Be careful. We union people can make up harassment stories, dig up emails from years ago, play the victim pity party game and try to get you in trouble. We don't like charters because we know we would be transferred, and this inconveniences us. The union protects us from the district. However, the union doesn't protect us from parents who's daughters we made cry because of petty uniform violations and lawyers that specialize in wrongful termination. We need more protection from SEA leadership, and thatsthetruth!— May 7, 2014 11:19 p.m.
No teachers’ union, no political agendas…
I disagree. Resource positions where you sit on the sidelines and don't take risks are the future!— May 7, 2014 7:01 p.m.
No teachers’ union, no political agendas…
Rumor has it that students and staff are being recruited by Bonita Vista Middle and Chula Vista High to help build Bayfront. As a concerned protected union employee, I urge other members to help to protect this from happening.— May 7, 2014 6:59 p.m.
Castle Park Middle School principal punches back!!
Why aren't people investigating the issues at Bonita Vista Middle and Chula Vista High? Charter school talk has been rampant through the front office doors there. Please look into this.— February 6, 2014 8:06 p.m.
Classroom shenanigans in Sweetwater school district?
Heard that Bonita Vista Middle and Chula Vista High are actually closer to charter status. Surprised there's no protests going on around there.— January 29, 2014 5:02 p.m.
Picket at Sweetwater trustee Cartmill's home
Funny. The only principal that might put a heavy stock in evaluating someone based on a mundane learning target would be the one at Southwest Middle. This appears to be a joke. Nevertheless, evaluating a teacher based on just a learning target is inaccurate. Classroom culture, relationships, improvement of test scores, and evidence of learning around the classroom is much more important when evaluating a teacher. Parents opinions also take heavier stock than all, followed by a combination of average students and administrators who evaluate them. The pro-SEA teachers opinions, who compromise of the majority of the votes for the specific schools teacher of the year, and who never see their colleagues in action, take the least stock by far. I also disagree about the older teachers causing the most problems. I've seen employees between 20-80 cause problems. You see this age range in the parking lot hollering, banging on the fences, and banging on equipment in the district office before and during the district meetings. It simply comes down to the employees who don't like to work and be held accountable that cause the most problems. Not the age range.— January 25, 2014 10:23 a.m.
