Advocacy group closely tied to big hotel owner backs legal attack on Filner
wait a second....there is a group that cares about tourism in san diego? You would never know it since they are allowing san diego to be bulldozed and turnd into a cesspoll of banal tenement slum housing projects. Who's gonna wanna visit SD if they dont 1st and foremost protect the character of the city? They sure as hell didnt do much to protect balboa Park from developers and profiteers.— February 23, 2013 4:13 p.m.
Todd Gloria still ready to move forward on Plaza de Panama Project
BTW Todd stop shutting down free speech. If you have been blocked by Todd Gloria from commenting contact me. Im trying to get the ACLU on this. He seems to think the 1st amendment is a technicality and he has veto power.— February 11, 2013 11:03 p.m.
Todd Gloria still ready to move forward on Plaza de Panama Project
There was a reason developer after developer after developer spoke at the July mtg...it wasnt because they are gonna build the ACE parking garage. its because they want the 1000 plus acres of Balboa park to develop and they will convince you by telling you its for "affordable housing" the biggest sham in this state. We ca NOT let this destructive project happen or we will lose our park forever. After all remember the planning Commis called the park "a pile of buildings" that was never intended to last this long. Dont take the park for granted. We could lose it if Todd gets his way!— February 11, 2013 10:57 p.m.
Todd Gloria still ready to move forward on Plaza de Panama Project
Todd is INCREDIBLY corrupt! I have been trying to warn people about him for yrs. Just look at all my blog posts on him. This is getting serious. we need a criminal investigation into why all but 1 council member voted for something SO illegal. This is about way more than campaign cash. I guarantee u Todd is being paid off. This is a ,multi billion dollar situation because if they can destroy the landmark designation the park can be developed plain and simple. Thats what this is about. Thats what this was ALWAYS about!— February 11, 2013 10:54 p.m.
Prop 30: Brown confronted about personal use of Cal Trans vehicles
wow! interesting Mindy! i believe it. I really hate it when corrupt democrats hide behind social justice and guilt people into bad measures! NO on 30 and 39!! Spread the word. Both may well pass. If they do we are gonners!— October 28, 2012 8:55 p.m.
More Chula Vistans Gather to Fight Lake Pointe Project
also pay attention to the state. they are recreating redevelopment using the term "sustainable communities". this time there is no blight requirement. So they will getting billions in subsidies as soon as Cap and Trade auctions begin. No one ever pays attention to the state and how developers are gaining power. they also keep destroying CEQA which we need to have reinstated and get rid of all the exemptions they have received.— October 24, 2012 5:53 p.m.
More Chula Vistans Gather to Fight Lake Pointe Project
we need a ballot measure to take power away from developers. SD has no more water for any new development which is why they are forcing every1 to conserve by jacking rates sky high. That way they can keep developing. We need a ballot measure forcing developers to pay more for using water which effects all our rates. Now we subsidize all new development.— October 24, 2012 5:51 p.m.
California Prop 30 ends the Brown Act Open Government laws
I am interested in your research. Please share with me how Brown Act would still be enforceable if this were passed....I just dont trust anything in the language of this proposition. If it says the state doesnt have to fund the Brown act. Then can the cities say they are broke and not pay for it? What legal language makes it enforceable w/o being funded?— October 24, 2012 3:28 p.m.
California Prop 30 ends the Brown Act Open Government laws
A continuing stream of revenue to local governments A restriction of the State’s authority to expand program requirements A requirement that the State share the costs of some unanticipated program expenses An elimination of mandate funding liability An elimination of State reimbursement for Open Meeting Act Costs It says NOTHING about ensuring the Brown Act is enforceable w/o reimbursement from state— October 24, 2012 3:08 p.m.
