Not Quite a Mission Hills Holiday
Mission Hills.....the Grinch that steals neighborhoods?? For years Mission Hills has also encroached several blocks east into Hillcrest. The city map shows Dove Street as the boundary between Mission Hills and Hillcrest but don't tell that to Mission Hills. For years the Vons and Albertsons have been located in Hillcrest yet Mission Hills lays claim to them. Then, a "Welcome to the community of Hillcrest" sign placed (by the city) at Dove Street was mysteriously torn down days after it went up. I love my neighborhood of Hillcrest and wouldn't live anywhere else. We are a community of diverse and eclectic people, shops and lifestyles...just ask the American Planning Association who named us one of America's Top Ten Great Neighborhoods. Come on Mission Hills....you're a great neighborhood. Stop overstepping your boundaries.— December 28, 2008 11:18 a.m.
