How eucalyptus has hurt San Diego
I couldn't agree more! These are very dangerous and take innocent lives. How many more people must die before the officials recognize that they are inherently dangerous and can snap with little or no warning. The list goes on and on. An 80 year old woman was tending her garden and the neighbors eucalyptus was able to work it's way through a hole in the fence that was the neighbors responsibility to fix and dragged itself, roots and all, over to her and she lost and arm and part of her leg. The branch that attacked her would have killed her had another neighbor not grabbed the nearest pit bull and beat the tree off of her. More recently, a 3 day old infant was sleeping in the same bad as the eucalyptus that had been in the family a long time and for an unknown reason, took ahold of the baby's head and pierced the skull with one of it's long branches. The county took the tree and euthanized it even though the family had stated that their tree is non violent and had never killed anyone before. The county offered them a couple of pit bulls that were rescued form a dog fighting ring to help ease the pain of their loss. Every eucalyptus owner, whether their tree has been accused of being violent or not, make the same claims. They just get a bad rap and their tree would never harm a soul and there are just as many people killed by falling Bonsai trees, but the press never reports on those attacks. The owners continue with blaming the victims for screaming and hollering after being hit with a falling branch which gets the branch more excited causing it to keep falling on that person until the screaming stops, which usually is only when they are dead. Yes! Yes! I say Yes. These trees are dangerous and once the choose their target, they pounce and often 2 or 3 others get in on the branching preventing anyone from trying to fight them off. Wake up San Diego, because .......Uhhhm. OOps! Sorry about that. I got the tree and the dog mixed up. I mean they both have bark. Anyway, switch the 2 around so I don't have to go back and change it. I'm sure it's a good idea to keep your eyes on the trees so you have a few extra moments of peace just before your neighbors pit bull takes you down by the ass and tenderizes the meat on your bones so the poodles can take a bight as well.— June 14, 2016 8:39 p.m.
U.S. Marshals nab suspect from South Park rental
The story of the female that was arrested certainly sounds plausible to me. I can understand the fear and urge to hide when a bunch of people with guns are screaming and banging and kicking in the door whether they have a warrant or not. I'm quite certain that very few people would think that once they gained entry, the cops are going to be calm and caring and kindly ask the occupants to surrender themselves so they may search the home. They are going to scream and threaten and yell and slam people to the ground that are confused and in shock. I can see the police point of view, but I can see the others as well. Heck, if it were the SDPD, with their recent patterns and I were female, I'd be scared too. They may be tired of waiting for a female to drive by so they are just gonna go find them and bring a few buddies along. Daze her with a flash bang or a gang bang. All the same to them— January 24, 2014 5:08 a.m.
Seeing Stars, Voodoo Hit Man, Lottery Odds
Matt, you don't seem to think that there is no such thing as a stupid question. The future billionaire's question was not about how commonly his numbers are chosen, but whether they have the same chance to be drawn as any other sequence. I do want to let out a laugh too, like you did.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! I thought it was funny that you had asked him to not be mad that you revealed those numbers, even though many of us had already figured what they were, right after you implied he was an idiot and his friends were even bigger morons.. LOL! OK, I'm done. Carry on.— July 9, 2011 4:55 p.m.
