neighborhoods/chula-vista -- Chula Vista
The amphitheater phenomenon struck again tonight. For years in the Terra Nova neighborhood off of H street and the 805 freeway, we have been able to hear concerts from the Sleeptrain amphitheater over on Main street. This is at least 8 miles away from our hilltop homes. I can distinctly hear guitar riffs though lead vocals are a little muffled. Some boy band is on the bill tonight. The really strange thing is that it does not happen for every concert. The weather has to be just right or we do not hear a thing. One of the neighbors actually called the police to complain about the loud party they thought was going on past 10 in the evening. First time I heard it years ago I thought it was one tight cover band.— August 4, 2013 9:25 p.m.
