That Other Bach (2 of 2)
"...I thought I should have to seize his front hair and pull it hard….” I can't read this line without thinking of Tom Hulce's crazy laugh as Mozart in Amadeus. It's Such a great line, and makes me love "Wolfie" even more. The similarities in both music examples are uncanny. I'm thinking this is a great topic for a Music History research paper. Hmm... Great continuation of the previous article. -calixica— February 28, 2012 7:58 p.m.
That Other Bach
One down...19 children of J.S. Bach to go. But how many became well known? Great article, Garrett. -calixica— February 28, 2012 7:45 p.m.
Sold Out Crowd Takes in "Dr. Einstein's Spin"
Peter Sprague is just all around amazing. I have the pleasure of knowing him personally (he plays at the Roxy in Encinitas almost every Thursday night) and he's not only a great musician, composer and arranger but humble to boot. All of the musicians that collaborate with him are equally amazing. His stories for how he comes up with compositions are also very interesting. Did he end up telling how he came up with the title for "Bomb Scare Blues?" I'm sad that I missed this performance.— December 5, 2011 5:25 p.m.
Messiah Breakup
Curiously enough, that is not the first time I've heard Bach described as "new and sexy" and I would definitely agree.— December 5, 2011 5:04 p.m.
Handel's Messiah Has Balls (3 of 3)
I agree, Messiah does work in all of it's various incarnations...even at an amateur or semi-professional level. I think it would be even more enjoyable with some coffee and doughnuts ;)— December 5, 2011 11:49 a.m.
The Students Sing

The Students Sing
Hmm, that Aida Alberro sounds like a "Diva" to me... What's so endearing about goofy and disarming faces during a performance anyway?— October 13, 2011 11:55 p.m.
