This Blog Rated PG
Dang! I need to get out more. You guys are talking about movies that I've never heard of before. But then again, I'm too dang cheap to spring for going out to a movie, plus I don't like dealing with obnoxious movie-goers.— January 1, 2010 3:10 a.m.
Best Job Ever? Best Husband Ever?
I just read the plot summary for "Little Children," having never even heard of it. Let me just say this about that: it sounds like a totally f-ed up movie, Josh. Bleeding heart libs from Hollywood trying to garner sympathy for child molesters at every chance? I dunno, but I'm with you on the mandatory castration part.— January 1, 2010 2:56 a.m.
Victorious Seals
Disturbing to some readers, long-time surfers, and others, is the fact that we have to go to work every day, whereas these know-nothing, bleeding heart libs seem to have all the time in the world on their hands. Clearly, they don't spend any time at any of the harbors where the seals are more than a mere nuisance. At any given time, there are hundreds, if not thousands of them, pooping, barking, creating havoc with the environment, interfering with commerce and the movement of watercraft. 5 pups, in the greater scheme of things, is not even a drop in the bucket.— January 1, 2010 2:41 a.m.
Lynn Hubbard III filed, 2000 lawsuits in the past ten years in California
Response to #16: Don, you're such a killjoy at times! When I worked the oil fields of Okla-by-gawd-homa, back in the day, there was actually a bumper sticker (that I displayed proudly) which declared: Don't tell my mom I work in the oil fields - she thinks I'm a piano player in a whorehouse. I thought it was cool at the time.— January 1, 2010 2:35 a.m.
Getting to the Post Office
The best laid plans...and all that. I was a liberal arts major in college, mainly because I'm a) not very well organized, b) not well disciplined (the military notwithstanding), and c) not all that interested in the effort required to be organized and disciplined. I admire people who can lay out the kind of itinerary that you laid out, and can execute to same. Those are generally drab and boring people who don't express themselves as well as you do.— December 31, 2009 8:39 a.m.
Lynn Hubbard III filed, 2000 lawsuits in the past ten years in California
Response to #5: Cheese and crackers! My mom was right; I should have become a scumbag lawyer...er, I mean, an attorney...instead of the piano player in a whorehouse! There's gold in them thar hills!— December 31, 2009 8:06 a.m.
Observations From the Drive-In
Some funny comment I made about one of your blogs is all. I'm on vacation this week. Headed to Florida, then to San Diego, China Lake (a vacation paradise), then back to my duty station. Actually, China Lake is job-related. Years and years ago, when I was in the reserves (Navy), I worked at the "Number One Store" for the Big Boy franchise (long before it got so fragmented with so many different owners) in Glendale, across the street (Colorado Blvd) from the corporate offices. I remember the old guy who started Bob's (Bob Wian) used to come in all the time, mostly in the afternoons. We had a drive in and a sit down area. Love me some good Bob's Big Boy, though I haven't had one in years.— November 24, 2009 4:05 a.m.
The Biggest Loser. Is it Shawne Merriman, Levi, or Palin?
I know I'm late to this party, but I had a disturbing thought the other day: Huckabee/Palin in '12. Think about it.— November 23, 2009 5:09 a.m.
Observations From the Drive-In
Josh: remember the Campus Drive-in near the college? Here's a link to the Majorette sign (currently at the College Grove shopping center): http://www.sohosandiego.org/reflections/2001septe… That history site is a great resource, by the way. I've spent hours there...mostly at work! LOL...not really. I got your email, but life has prevented my reply. Will soon. Best, Steve— November 23, 2009 4:49 a.m.
Weird Police, Weird DUI
I came to the conclusion a long, long time ago that what (particularly) blacks (and other minorities) hate more than anything is being ignored. That's the real reason that they keep the whole race card thing in play...not because they hate that white people allegedly hate them. My attitude toward blacks: shut the hell up and go to work. Make this a better society; quit harping on the past. You weren't part of the past; get over it.— November 16, 2009 7:20 a.m.
