Filner's name defaced on Ingraham St. bridge
It was much easier getting his name off of the plaque than it was to get him out of office.— August 10, 2018 9:56 a.m.
UPDATED Dave Shelly and Chainsaw looking for a new radio home.
The only time I listen to KGB is on the weekends when Jim McInnes is on, or the day/night of the SkyShow. Other than that, I haven't listened to KGB in years. That will continue. Satellite radio is a wonderful thing.— August 2, 2018 10:06 p.m.
Convention Center expansion absurd
Don: Interesting that the story Darren linked mentions how the city says the downtown redevelopment really got started with Horton Plaza mall. But the story (I didn't go through the entire story) doesn't say that Horton Plaza mall is basically dead. Does that mean downtown San Diego will "re-invent" itself again in another 30 years?— July 23, 2018 11:20 a.m.
The fight from the bottom
The Padres also made a bad decision, as a good portion of the county can't even pick up 97.3 to listen to the games. Ironically, the guy who set up the Padres radio station switch is Mike Dee, who was fired by the Padres after that, but was then hired by Entercom.— July 1, 2018 8:49 p.m.
The fall of Horton Plaza
They are also going door-to-door for signatures. I turned down someone yesterday. After I explained to him why I wouldn't sign it, he then asked me to sign his petition just to put it on the ballot, so he could get the money for the signature.— June 30, 2018 11:51 a.m.
The fight from the bottom
With the moving of the Chargers to Carson, you would have thought it would have been tough for even 2 sports stations in San Diego. So of course, the Padres move to 97.3, and a THIRD sports station appears. And the 0.0 rating for Sileo? That sounds about right.— June 29, 2018 11:45 a.m.
Dumanis hit on weapons inventory
I'm sure good old Teflon Bonnie doesn't know anything about this.— June 23, 2018 3:12 p.m.
Jamul tribe denies casino imploding
I have been to that casino one time (not to gamble--just to check it out). It is a nice place. A nice, big place. A nice, big, empty place. Granted, I was there on an afternoon visit, but let's put it this way. You would have had no trouble finding any gaming machines that were available. That casino also does not have a buffet, as they are about the only casino I know of that doesn't have one. And...Penn National took a financial bath on that casino. I don't see how it will be any different with the local tribe running the business.— June 21, 2018 1:59 p.m.
Jamul tribe denies casino imploding
Many of the local casinos have busses.— June 21, 2018 9:53 a.m.
Bus rider pet peeves: walking and waiting
I wasn't aware that the initiative to repeal SB-1 failed to qualify for the November ballot.— June 12, 2018 3:49 p.m.
