Broken Skull, Broken Heart
I read your article from beginning to the end. Very heart-felt. I'm a teen, I skateboard, I don't wear a helmet or any protective gear. I always say that I'll buy a helmet but I seem to put it off. This story has and will change my life. After reading this and seeing how such a small thing can change someone's life I'll finally buy that helmet, and I will not skateboard without it. And I will share this with the other teen skateboarders that I do know. I too have fallen and had a head injury although it wasn't serious, it could have been and I just needed someone other than my mom to help me realize it. Thank you for your inspiring words. I hope that other skateboarders will read your story or listen to what I have to say. Even though I am young and a girl your words, courage, and bravery have inspired me. Thank you.— December 16, 2010 12:15 p.m.
