Why, Y?
Matt101, I don't think speculation re personalities is pertinant or relevant here. The Mayor (Barth) in conjunction with the City Manager (Vina) sets the agenda. This is not a secret, and has been the same forever. Hmmm, I wonder why the city didn't try to pull ithis stunt off when Stocks was Mayor in 2012? Barth and Vina put it on the consent calendar the week before Christmas, a full 6 months before the lease deadline! Motivation, please? Also, I'm willing to bet that MANY of the evil parking space sucking Little League families are also YMCA members. Would love to see the stats on that! Think they'll dump their Y membership when they realize the Y doesn't want them around and probably plans to eliminate the fields? Maybe the Y needs to restrict their membership sales to coinside with available parking! I wonder if the city has any ability to review that aspect of the Y's practices???— December 21, 2014 12:19 p.m.
