OliverMcMillan's foreclosed shopping center goes up for sale
I remember Harry. I was going to Mesa College and met this attractive girl in French class. She liked me and I fell in love. Problem was, she was Harry's girl, This was about 1974-75. Harry had the house above Black's Beach--nothing terribly fancy at the time. Miss X, as I shall call her, introduced me to Harry at the house, She had begun living with him. She was pretty much in charge of the house. He bought her a car and a horse (horse kept at the Farms.) And a credit card. Parties were lavish. One party a bunch of airline stewardesses attended. Lots of pot and drinking. Two stewardess were working Harry over on the couch and he took them off to bed. Miss X didn't seem to mind given all the gifts and money. And hey, "free love," right? I remember a 14 year old precocious girl who could memorize anything. She was in love with Harry. I remember something inappropriate happened --I will leave it at that. Harry did tell me he had a dream that all the books in the library of congress could and one day be put on microfilm. let's just say that Harry's Xanadu was a lot of fun. As for Miss X, I saw here several years later at a wine taster. She had parted ways with Harry under very unpleasant circumstances. The last time I saw Harry was at the wake for Todd Figi at the LMCA . I almost did not recognize him. We had a passing conversation, mostly about Miss X. He said that they were still friends. I took some wonderful photos of Miss X at the Cooper estate before we parted ways--and of her on her horse at the Farm's stables. All G rated. I wanted to give those to her. Harry said he would let her know. I gave him my card. Harry is a Southern gentlemen--need I say more.— July 2, 2016 12:02 a.m.
