Selling at San Diego mall kiosks was the best
Interesting article, it pretty much confirms everything I have ever imagined about these most highly annoying people, even car salesmen don't attack unless you swim into their waters..... I never understood the mall owners letting these jerks give their upscale malls the ambience of a Tijuana street bazaar. Maybe it is just me, but I would never buy a phone from these vermin.— July 29, 2011 4:33 p.m.
Other People’s Children
Rickey, all I have to say is Amen, brother!— May 19, 2011 10:27 p.m.
Other People’s Children
Kevin, what you fail to take in to account is that there are other people paying to be in the restaurant, etc. who are entitled to quiet enjoyment of it. So you decide to be the advocate for the spoiled brat who thinks they are entitled to do whatever they please, and for the lethargic parent who can't be bothered to take responsibility for their child(ren)? You are advocating the proliferation of inconsiderate jerks, both young and old. Having been a parent of young children, I can tell you that it takes some work to get them used to being in public places without being insufferable little brats, but the work is worth it. The kids learn how to behave, and all are being considerate of each other. If you want to let your kid run wild, go to a playground or Chuck E Cheese. There is a time and a place for everything, loud children in restaurants are just obnoxious. I hope your little tantrum about those who dare tell children to behave, or tell their parents to make them behave made you feel better, because to me it sounded like the rantings of yet another spoiled child.— May 19, 2011 10:27 p.m.
How Texas oilmen Clint Murchison and Sid Richardson ran Del Mar and national politicians from the Del Charro hotel in La Jolla.
Excellent article, I am anxious to read part 2. I hope there are some pictures of the hotel and grounds in part 2. I grew up in La Jolla and remember the Del Charro. I do not, however, remember the La Plaza restaurant. Where was that located?— January 12, 2011 7:26 p.m.
MAPlight.org ranks Marty Block
The term "educator", when used by political candidates generally means that they will prostitute themselves to the teacher's union as the union is putting up the money for their candidacy.— October 17, 2010 12:53 p.m.
SOHO vs. Developers: What’s Worth Saving in San Diego?
I'd just like to point out my disgust at the term "Barrio Logan". Folks, the area is properly called Logan Heights. Please use the actual correct term and not the politically correct one. Thanks.— September 29, 2010 4:21 p.m.
Hot Time in Old Town's Cosmopolitan Restaurant and Hotel
I haven't been there since it was Casa de Bandini, there was NO way I was going to patronize the Delaware North disasters. I am glad that a local operator is once again running the place and I wish him well.— September 10, 2010 5:30 p.m.
Fat Boy and the Yogi
I always wondered what the deal was with that pig. Fun to watch, but I would not especially want one.— September 3, 2010 10:54 p.m.
Linda Vista Landmark Skateworld Faces the Wrecking Ball of Redevelopment
Thank you for the excellent article. While I have never been to Skateworld, I have lived near the Linda Vista area in years past as well as traveling through the area frequently. While the property that Skateworld is located on is not the best in the city, it is certainly far from the worst. I am all for seeing Linda Vista move up in the world, as it is one of the most perfect locations in San Diego, this is not the way to do it. This is another example of how a power hungry and greedy city council will eventually kill another business, and one that produces revenue to the city. They need to stop messing with Grantville, too.— September 3, 2010 10:51 p.m.
