Tijuana Revisited, Part 1

There are some dozen or so bus companies plying their trade in Tijuana. The blue and whites are amongst the best maintained and modern. I use them regularly to take the airport route to my palacial wooden shack in the foothills of eastern TJ. Right now the blue and whites are battling with two other companies that have pirated their routes. It's very different from San Diego where the MTS (Miserably Terrible Service) holds sway. Sometimes its better and sometimes it isn't.

I think the fact that Leyzaola is not succeeding in Ciudad Juarez lends credence to my theory, what you call the analysts theory, that it's the truce between the cartels more than the cops who are responsible for the peace in Tijuana. I can cite you more personal examples since I live in Tijuana but for safety reasons I won't.

Nephews of Cartel Leader Under Federal Investigation

That's not the story here. The real story is that the son of Zambada was arrested in Mexico City by US forces and whisked to a federal detention center in the midwest. There he has told of a quid pro quo between first the Bush regime and now Obama's. They were allowed to bring US guns into Mexico in exchange for info on rival groups. That's the story no one will touch because the dirt is on every pols hands.

I've been following this story since it broke. There's a good video clip of Governor Osuna Milan sweating bullets as he tries to spin it his way. Most enjoyable to watch.
