Mexican public servants watch porn on the job
I would take this report with a very large grain of salt. It's the guy who is selling the porn-filtering software who is claiming the government workers are watching porn. And to say 9 out of 10 kids over the age of 9 have visited porn sites, accidental or otherwise, seems a real stretch. I don't think Mexican kids are all that different from American kids, so I imagine this problem exists here too. Not. This whole deal sounds like bullticky to me.— April 17, 2013 9:15 p.m.
Dirty dancing for supper
It's a mambo, a rumba, a tango, and a samba, as the dancers glide across the floor; a quick sidestep into the office where the contracts get signed. The nod, the wink, the firm grip in the handshake. Drinks all around! Try the Chateaubriand, the caviar, your signature here, please. Let's keep out the riff raff with their low bids; only those you know get to dance in this club. And the beat goes on...sickeningly.— April 17, 2013 7:11 p.m.
Ambulances chase politicos
Scratch, scratch; kiss, kiss; the palms are greased and it's business as usual in good ol' Sandy Eggo.— April 17, 2013 7 p.m.
Point Loma High School film studio shut down during investigation into porn shoot
As they should be. It's the colleges that are surprisingly sleepy these days. There are so many issues now that should be confronted by some strong, militant protest, but all I hear is silence. I don't understand it. The administrators are taking millions home while the tuition just keeps going up, and there are loads of social issues that should have someone raising hell, but I don't hear a peep. Maybe these high school kids will bring it to the colleges. I sure hope so.— April 17, 2013 6:58 p.m.
Forgive, and forget the cash
Every political party has their black sheep. Truth is though, no one can run for office these days without big, big bucks, either in their own bank account, or that of a supporter. This is part of what is wrong with our political system these days. It's a goddamn auction.— April 17, 2013 6:50 p.m.
Trailer Park: Man of Steel
I guess the new zonky technology, special effects and CGi come with a price: we must also accept the new zeitgeist.— April 17, 2013 1:04 p.m.
Forgive, and forget the cash
Wow. Wish I could get someone to forgive me $2,250,000.00. That sure could come in handy. What world do these people live in?— April 17, 2013 12:52 p.m.
Car crasher destroys mailbox and signage in Carlsbad
Probably caused by a 1. Alcoholic, 2. Textaholic, 3. Speedaholic, or 4. Senior Moment. The first three are preventable. The last...er, I forget what the last is.— April 16, 2013 9:29 a.m.
Judge denied access to man who abused mom
I'll reserve judgment until we see what the sentence is. The guy beat his 92-year old mother black and blue. I don't think he deserves to be commended for coming back to the level of human. Nobody should be allowed to do that and then, just because they are an alcoholic, be congratulated when they stop drinking and beating people. He's got a long way to go.— April 10, 2013 9:11 p.m.
Plagues and Pleasures, Fur
I thought Fur was a terrific movie. I found it fascinating from start to finish. The fact that Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey Jr. star, makes it even better.— April 10, 2013 7:03 p.m.
