RE: "take a lie detector test..." What a ridiculous statement. Are you just trying to be provocative, Don? Filnergate is NOT about you and Bob against the mean old world, making your last stand.
He's been too busy slamming other journalists in San Diego (who do live here), saying they are all corrupt or incompetent. And he's building a giant telescope so he can view the blinking El Cortez Hotel sign from his manse.
Don in Colorado
Don't count on my shutting up. Just ignore my postings from now on. Don apparently THINKS he's the combination of Edward R. Murrow, Woodward & Bernstein, Dan Rather, Walter Cronkite and Brian Ross--all rolled into one. No, I have no envy at all for arrogant, smug, egotistical journalists who are full of themselves and spout wild opinions and rumors in blogs while not providing adequate personal investigation and verification of his accusations. And if I were "not much of a writer," how did I manage to write hundreds of them over the years, plus edit magazines (and write songs)? How many publications have paid YOU to write articles? Name one.
I remember "All The President's Men" in which Woodward and Bernstein could never run a Watergate story with one source. Their Washington Post editor (Ben Bradlee) would never allow it. Today a certain Reader reporter runs stories like this in his blog, simply because he wants to. I don't like DeMaio, but I don't think this story has credence. This is a Drudge Report type story by this Reader reporter; he won't (or can't) investigate and verify it as that would take too much time and effort; so he just reposts it. Yet the same reporter criticizes local media for its reporting on Filnergate, calling it a "lynching."
I think the ONLY songs you know are "Happy Birthday" and "Home on the Range."
Wait a minute; please don't paint the Reader with a broad brush. Bauder is not "the San Diego Reader." He simply writes for it, as do MANY people. If you want "hard facts or news," instead read Dorian Hargrove's BS-free news articles, instead of Bauder's braggadocio-blasts. ;-)
