The UCSD Advanced Jazz Ensemble directed by Mark Dresser and featuring Niloufar Shiri, Hesam Abedini, Connor Hughes, Patrick Chung, Mark Olsher, and Michael Hayes play at the Conrad Prebys Music Center Experimental Theater (9500 Gilman Drive) at 7 p.m. Free concert… Gilbert Castellanos begins his long hang at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series before leading the jam session at 8:30. All ages, no cover.
