A $2.2 million project to replace sewer pipelines near the beach will affect traffic and bus routes in northwestern Carlsbad from now until September. There are two construction sites: Beech Avenue between Ocean Street and Washington Street, and Normandy Lane between Garfield Street and Mountain View Drive. City officials say no service interruptions are anticipated throughout the construction period.

Both blocks of Normandy Lane and Beech Avenue will be closed to through traffic during construction, and residents can expect periodic detours and road closures between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

North County Transit District bus routes may be affected on Beech Avenue during construction. An up-to-date list of transit schedules is available online at gonctd.com.
