Empty Bowls San Diego 2017
Empty Bowls brings together restaurants and local artisan potters to fight hunger in our community. The Empty Bowls project is an international organization that grew from a fundraiser in a Michigan high school art class.
San Diego area potters and local students make and donate hundreds of ceramic bowls for this cause. San Diego restaurants donate soup and bread. Guests choose and purchase their favorite bowl and fill it with soup while enjoying bluegrass music. After enjoying this simple meal of soup and bread, the guests take their bowls home as a reminder that their donation helped to fight hunger in San Diego.
All proceeds go to TACO, Third Avenue Charitable Organization, serving the homeless and the working poor in San Diego for 42 years.
