Binational Crush
In wine country, September marks crush season, the time when grapes are harvested, picked, and crushed for a year’s supply of wine. The Wine Pub’s patio welcomes guests for a taste of renowned Baja wines beneath the shade of the trees on a San Diego summer evening. Fernando Castro will guide a five-course tasting of Baja-grown wines and stop at each table for one-on-one time with guests. Castro will explain the importance of crush season for local wineries and the connection between a vineyard’s terroir and the taste of each wine and how it differs each year.
Ticket includes five wine tastings. A portion of the proceeds from bottle sales benefit Corazon de Vida, an organization providing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico. thewinepubsd.com.
