Out on the Refuge Day
What is a National Wildlife Refuge? Who lives on Sweetwater Marsh? Join us as we answer these questions by exploring the refuge and getting hands on and up-close with many of the creatures that call the refuge home including lizards, snakes, birds of prey, bugs, and more. Plus, in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day, we'll be working to beautify area that these animals call home by hosting off-trail cleanups. These areas are normally closed off to the public to keep the wildlife undisturbed, except for cleanups and research.
11 a.m. to 2 p.m, check out the Discovery Stations on the trails, with hands-on interaction with animals. Kids get prizes for completing all activities. 11, noon, and 1 p.m. groups leaving for “off trail” cleanups.
