Legally Blonde Jr.
Fun, upbeat musical follows the adventures of a sorority girl named Elle Woods – a California girl with a penchant for everything pink – who proves that brain power, determination and believing in your own fabulousness will get you far. Fans of the 2001 movie starring Reese Witherspoon will recognize the story: Delta Nu sorority president Elle Woods doesn’t take “no” for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious”, Elle sets out to win him back, using lots of hard work and a little charm to get herself into Harvard Law School. Once there, she is challenged by her peers, professors and her ex, but with the help of some new, true friends, Elle realizes her capabilities and sets out to prove herself to the world. This production, working under student director Shannon O’Kane, features cast members and crew from several schools within Poway Unified School District (PUSD), including Black Mountain Middle School, Mt. Carmel High School, and Del Norte High School. Tickets for evening performances are $15/general admission, $10/student and may be purchased through cast members or at the theatre before the show. A special matinee performance on Sunday, October 2 at 2PM, with all tickets for $5, will benefit Black Mountain Middle School’s Renaissance Fair.
