A drama of the early feminist movement. Realizing that peaceful protests were futile, women’s rights activists were forced to turn to radical and violent acts in the fight for equality. Geoff Bell, Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep, and Sam West are some of the talented cast in this period piece. Brandon Cesmat, a film studies professor at California State University, San Marcos, will lead pre- and post-screening discussions for this event. Cinema chat begins at 1:30 p.m., and film screens at 2 p.m., followed by a post-film discussion.
