Knowledge Commons San Diego: Famosa Slough, Turning Trash into Treasured Habitat. Join San Diego's legendary conservation activist, Jim Peugh, as he takes on a walk around Famosa Slough, an urban estuary located in Point Loma. We'll learn to identify the native flora and fauna while listening to tales of Jim's 30 year struggle to transform the slough from a garbage dump into a pristine wilderness preserve. We'll also learn what we can do make our surroundings more friendly to native plants and animals.
Class location: Famosa Slough State Marine Conservation Area. Meet at the wooden kiosk on Famosa Boulevard about 150' south of West Point Loma Boulevard (Famosa Boulevard and West Point Loma Boulevard).
