New Moon Walk: San Diego Astronomy Association
1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, 92106
Cost: $25
This is an opportunity to enjoy the stars at Cabrillo National Monument, away from a lot of downtown’s light. If you have a telescope, you are welcome to set it up in the parking lot. Members of the San Diego Astronomy Association will be on-site to show you the beauty of the nighttime sky through their own telescope.
A member of the SDAA will give a brief talk about the night sky and answer any astronomy-related questions. Stroll to the lighthouse with docents in period dress. Meet Cabrillo’s nighttime residents up close: scorpions, bats, and snakes. The hike is one hour. Flashlights recommended.
Current members free, all people in a member’s car free, non-members $25 per passenger vehicle.
