Sculpture in the Garden
San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas has a rich heritage of garden art, both natural and man-made. Our 37-acre urban oasis provides the beautiful natural setting for this year’s Sculpture in the Garden -- a collection of 42 works supplied by 27 artists. From now to April 2016 visitors are invited to engage with these diverse creations set against a unique backdrop of dragon trees, rare fruit gardens, bamboo groves, tranquil ponds, and other natural settings. Artwork from top regional, national, and international artists have been mindfully selected by Naomi Nussbaum Art & Design, curator of this year’s show. Ranging from the whimsical to the abstract, each piece has been carefully placed to help guests visualize these works of art in their own gardens. All of the sculptures on display in the garden are for sale and is part of a fundraising efforts to keep the beautiful Garden open and accessible to the public 364 days a year.
