California Native Plant Society: All About Oaks
Campo Road and Singer Lane, Rancho San Diego
Cost: Free
Join EDI and the US Fish and Wildlife Service to plant oaks along the Sweetwater River in the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge and/or hike with a ranger to learn more about this iconic species. Oaks are suffering from prolonged drought, disease, and invasive insects. Help keep new trees coming along while biologists seek solutions. Oaks support over 300 native animal species so if we lose oaks, we lose a whole ecosystem.
Please join us for either or both events meet in the parking lot at the intersection of Campo Road and Singer Lane; 8:45am for acorns, 11:15 for hike.
