Tisha B'Av
6660 Cowles Mountain Boulevard, San Diego, 92119
Tifereth Israel Synagogue and Ohr Shalom Synagogue will once again unite for Tisha B’Av services. Tisha B’Av, the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av, is a day of national mourning which commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Jerusalem Temples as well as other sad days in Jewish history. This year’s study session will be led by Sydni Adler, a student at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, who is serving as summer Rabbinic Intern at Ohr Shalom Synagogue. The evening will begin with a Shabbat Mincha (afternoon) service, which will be followed by Ma’ariv (the evening service), the reading of the book of Eicha (Lamentations), and the study session. All are welcome.
