Native American Walk
10818 San Diego Mission Road, San Diego, 92108
Cost: Free
Walking for two months and over 700 miles, an indigenous mom and her 21-year-old son complete their journey at Mission San Diego.
The Walk for the Ancestors started in Sonoma on Labor Day, and they will have visited all 21 missions when it reaches Mission San Diego. Caroline and her son Kagen embarked on this journey to raise awareness of the treatment of their ancestors in the California Mission system and the cultural denial of this history. People are encouraged to wear the color red as a sign of solidarity.
