Woman in the Moon: Silent Sci-Fi Screening
9500 Gilman Drive, San Diego, 92093
Cost: Free
In this collaboration between The Arthur C. Clarke Center for the Human Imagination and the UC San Diego Library, a brief survey of silent sci-fi films from 1898 through 1929 will be presented, with Gary Robbins (science writer for UT San Diego) moderating comments from a panel of sci-fi film fans.
Later that evening, live music from the Library’s silent film ensemble will accompany Fritz Lang’s Woman in the Moon, a 1929 sci-fi flick with excellent science. Orchestral instruments, Theremins, and synthesizers provide the live score. Info: 858-822-5758.
