Monster Drawing Rally
The San Diego Art Institute is partnering with Low Gallery to present San Diego’s first Monster Drawing Rally.
This interactive event will feature over 100 artists creating work on site to demystify the creative process. Spectators can watch as sketches develop into full-fledged artworks, immediately available for $60 each.
Visitors can also get T-shirts and tote bags silkscreened with one of three designs by L.A.-artist Chris Burns, founder of Goldmine Shithouse. San Diego’s own killwave band Prayers will also perform a live set during the evening.
The Monster Drawing Rally was first conceived by Southern Exposure to make visible the artists’ creative process and bring together audiences and artists in a collaborative and educational setting.
Proceeds from the event support SDAI's upcoming exhibition “Beyond Limits," ongoing exhibitions, and the artist-and-curator residency program at San Diego Art Institute North Park.
