Second Saturday Workshop: Abstract Collagraph Prints
Create a collaged printing plate inspired by works on view in the exhibition Gauguin to Warhol: 20th Century Icons from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
Design an abstract, mixed-media collagraph plate layering cut shapes, textured fabrics, papers, and modeling paste. Explore a variety of relief and intaglio inking techniques such as stenciling and "inking a la poupee." Working with flexible gelatin plates, learn to hand-ink or utilize a flatbed press to complete your own multi-colored print. This workshop is led by Alyson Blum and begins with a tour of the exhibition.
The Second Saturday Workshop Series is an adult program that explores exhibitions and installations at the Museum. Each begins with a tour of the related exhibition, followed by a fine-art workshop.
