Zohreh Ghahremani: The Moon Daughter
Zoe Ghahremani will discuss and sign her family saga, The Moon Daughter, exploring the universal dynamics of mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and the struggles that define us.
In 1970s Iran, where marital rights and gender roles are maintained with tradition and fervor, Rana must make the hardest decision of her life when she gives birth to another girl instead of the son that her husband demands. This sets in motion a chain of events rippling through the next generation.
Dr. Zohreh “Zoe” Ghahremani is the award-winning author of Sky of Red Poppies, a One Book, One San Diego selection. A retired professor of pediatric dentistry, she turned her full attention to her passion for the written word in 2000. Since then, she has published three books and hundreds of articles and reviews.
