San Diego River Park Foundation Clean Up
River Cleanup event at the Mission Valley Preserve, Cottonwood Grove. Join the San Diego River Park Foundation’s Clean and Green Team for the 12th annual Creek to Bay county-wide cleanup event as we continue our mission to cleanup and restore the beautiful and historic San Diego River.
Volunteers will meet at the west side of Sefton Field located off of Hotel Circle Place. Info: 619-297-7380 or [email protected].
Our river is one of the more polluted waterways in the country, but with your help we can work to reverse years of littering and neglect and give the native plants and animals a trash free habitat in which to live. River cleanups are a fun, challenging, and important activity to help give back to our environment. All tools and supplies are provided.
The area we will focus on is quite beautiful for the most part but does have issues with trash and illegal dumping. For some reason some people think that it is ok to trash our wildlife preserves, but we will continue to cleanup this important area until it is trash free. Community service hours can be verified for those that need them. Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and wear closed shoes, no sandals or flip-flops allowed for safety reasons.
