Cars are Bike Magnets... or is it vise versa?

Last week a guy got hurt crossing Grand Ave. on his bicycle at Fanuel. The news said there was injuries - yet no follow up on the driver and how it occurred and the fate of our two-wheeled neighbor.

It did manage to open my eyes again to when I cross that wonderful 4 lane road in the heart of our town.
I cross this road every day, several times. Remaining vigilant is the only thing I can do – pretend I’m invisible on my two wheeled machine.

Last night (Monday, June 9th) there was another accident. This time it was at Gresham and Grand – one block away from last week’s accident. I asked a passerby what had happened and nobody had much detail other than that there was a bike laying crippled in the middle of the street and several cop cars around doing their white-chalk investigating.

Naturally I could only fear the worst has happened again. I just wondered where the news report was on this one, I’d really like to hear the story.
Red flashing lights and sirens in PB? I’ve GOT to know! Every time the fuzz-copter hovers overhead I always wonder what’s going on and why we never hear about it.

Stay safe, neighbors, I know the trouble isn’t usually caused by you. -Ricci
