Little Miss Sunshine is currently playing at The La Jolla Playhouse. I’m interested to see how this show works on stage.

It has been converted into a musical and three VW buses have been turned into set pieces.

This isn’t the first time a movie has gone from the screen to the stage.

There are all the Disney productions, Beauty and the Beast el al. There is also the successful stage version of The Producers. This not a comprehensive list.

One that surprised me is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I always assumed the movie was based on a stage production but the opposite is true.

I’m trying to think of a non-musical movie that became a stage musical. I’m not sure Spiderman counts. Please let that show go away.
