Cockle Belled Bumble

He comes, he stays,

then goes

without a thought

to me

sitting still beneath

a tree

watching him flit

from bud

to blossoming bloom.

His business is not

with me—

this busy body visitor,

this bumbled

honey bee with protruding

proboscis

dripping sun warmed nectar,

sweet sustenance

for a hive bound Queen.

Performing his elaborate song

and dance

for the wind and the grass

and the leaves,

he does not even notice me.

Were I nothing

but a microscopic mite

clinging

to his back I could fly with him

to whichever daisied meadow

or cockle belled

garden grew along tomorrow’s

pollen dusted

path an undetected passenger

on the semi-social

drone who colonizes

anonymously

amidst the summer’s swelling swarm.

UM, I'd say Dadler sent that Sexually Implicit standards here at the Reader WAY over the top...so I'd think hunny anythang would make the editorial cut.

that story he wrote about that woman in Oregon was a real hunny alright...hahahahahahahahaha...they didn't remove it tho...i got a great mystery removed because of the mention of a hard pencil....hahahahahahahaha
