On Fish's suggestion, We are for sale in San Diego

Since I would never condescend to abuse craigslist, it's obvious that I think we have a viable, exportable commodity here!

But that's the secret to life, the universe, and everything. What's better than 42? ;)

Maybe we should have put it on eBay and let the market decide!!

PistolPete Oct. 2, 2009 @ 1:59 p.m.

LMAO@ Ebay! Great idea. It'll divert some news away from Roman Polanski and put it on us. Maybe we'll even make Headline News.

Come to think of it,we could put the Chargeless up for sale on Ebay. We'd only be able to buy a carton of cigarettes and a cheap hooker for a night but at least the monkey would be off your backs. :-D

Did you just equate sports to heroin addiction?

Bravo, sir!

I asked for html tags in the add posts, Reader admin said some year ... :(

FullFlavorPike Oct. 2, 2009 @ 3:30 p.m.

I dunno if you noticed, but I loves me some italics!

CuddleFish Oct. 2, 2009 @ 3:34 p.m.

Hah! That reminded me of the Robin Harris skit:

"You know I don't want nothing to happen to you, baby, cuz I love me some Robin!"

In the inevitable case it is removed, quoting this beaut' in full:

Essence of Community - $42 (San Diego)

What we have here is the honest-to-goodness, purified, liquefied, bona fide, bottled-tried-and-true essence of a tightly knit online community. Distilled from the heartfelt ramblings, snarky witticisms, laffs, lols, :)'s, anecdotes, pontifications, gesticulations, and machinations of the finest blog posts and commentaries in the Greater San Diego area, this delightful tincture is sure to titillate the senses and invigorate the ailing spirits of any floundering community. What we have is potent, organic, low-sodium and perhaps not strictly legal in certain states, but it's surely guaranteed to give your flagging group of confidantes, cohorts, comrades, and compatriots a shot in the arm of the finest bonhomie this side of the Mississippi! By a secret process developed in our underground laboratories, we extract the wit, love, humor, thoughts, dreams, and beauty of a world-class group of writers, bottle it, and distribute it you at a loss of profit and purely from the goodness of our hearts.

Assess our community for yourself! You'll see, it's a guaranteed winner. Supplies are unlimited, so come one, come all!

"I dunno if you noticed, but I loves me some italics!"

I for one noticed, Pike :)

I am just nearly shocked speechless (I said nearly) for the second or third time today, as gringo wrote elsewhere. What a bunch of disparate, unlikely folk to hang out online or anywhere--ya wouldn't believe it, would ya!

We should have a TV show, like Cheers. I would want to play Kelsey Grammer's good doctor (yep, he's the dude responsible for ALL of the misspellings) or Lilith, or else Norm to PP's Cliff.

Anyway, thank you Pike for posting our wonderful ad! Will be quite interesting to post the inquiries of any online takers?

PistolPete Oct. 3, 2009 @ 12:36 a.m.

AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! I've actually thought about what character I'm most like on Cheers. Cliff Clavin was all I could come up with.

"I dunno if you noticed, but I loves me some italics!"

i did too Pike...but i don't know how to code them in here

and thx for the instant replay SD...that ad should be saved and treasured in a lovely memory box lined with velvet and tied with crimson silk ribbons....

this is so good!!!

and i wanna be a patron with no dialogue but plenty of beer

nan: Simple HTML tags work in the blog entries (not in the comments).

This is how you do italics where anything inside of the tags are in italics (and the tags themselves do not show up).

Others to keep in mind:

boldface underline

There are quite a few more that would work in here, but start simple!

How do I link a YouTube video into my blogs?

0

SDaniels Oct. 3, 2009 @ 5:14 p.m.

20: That Cheers episode was fun to revisit. Alex T. is hilarious. While I was watching it, happened to glance up at the muted television--Chelsey Lately was on Jeopardy, with Alex T. Synchronistic momentary moment...

27: What happened to that link, snarfhund? Tried it on a new page, and it brought me to some satellite TV ad :( We are all fans here, so you can ref your son's blogs by entry NAME! He's that famous! You should indeed be proud!

re: #23: It feels hopeless. Maybe Professor Gringo would teach a remedial course on HTML tags? :)

0

CuddleFish Oct. 3, 2009 @ 5:25 p.m.

How about centered? I want to do asterisks centered, doesn't work.

By the way, admin explained that we can't use HTML tags in the adds because of hackers. :(

David Dodd Oct. 3, 2009 @ 5:34 p.m.

Fishy:

It should work, I center my asterisks regularly.

Go here if you want to learn some basics:

http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

There are only a limited number of tags that will work in your blog entries, though. If you have a specific question, I'll answer it if I can.

CuddleFish Oct. 3, 2009 @ 6:15 p.m.

Ah, okay, thanks, refried. I don't need a whole lot more than that! :)
